Thirty women from the interior of Sabeto in Nadi, Fiji are now accredited massage therapists thanks to a grant from PIPSO's Business Development Fund. This was made possible after the women, who were employers of Tifajek Mud Pools and Hot Springs Limited, approached Debra Sadranu (pictured above, seated second from left), owner of Senikai Spas and Principal Trainer at the South Pacific Academy of Beauty Therapy. The women asked Ms Sadranu for assistance to obtain accreditation in massage therapy in order to improve services at their mud pool facility. The Pacific Leadership Program (PLP) has partnered with the Pacific Islands Private Sector Organisation (PIPSO) since 2008, recognising PIPSO's role as the region's peak body for private sector development. The partnership placed particular emphasis on private sector governance and leadership, and its links to improving livelihoods.
