L-R: PLP Tonga Country Representative- Lilieta Takau, 2016 Greg Urwin Awardee Vini Mafi of Tonga and Mary Faasau, a 2011 Greg Urwin Awardee is also from Tonga. Vini completed her placement with the Secretariat of the Pacific Community’s Regional Rights Resource Team in Suva, Fiji.

Our work in Tonga is focused on three broad priority areas with the following partners:

  • Private sector leadership- Tonga Chamber of Commerce and Industries
  • Community leadership-  Tonga National Leadership Development Forum & Civil Society Forum of Tonga
  • Women’s leadership- Civil Society Forum of Tonga
  • Future developmental leadership- Tonga National Youth Congress

PLP also supports True Tonga Incorporated, a non-profit organisation for its overarching goals of economic empowerment for  for looking after the interests of Tongan craftspeople.
