Opportunities- Emerging Pacific Leaders' Dialogue
Emerging Pacific Leaders’ Dialogue (EPLD)
The Emerging Pacific Leaders’ Dialogue (EPLD) is a four-yearly event of national and regional significance designed to strengthen the capacity of the region’s future leaders to manage challenges collaboratively, positively and creatively. PLP, on behalf of AusAID, contributes funding to EPLD and has a seat on the EPLD Board.
EPLD seeks to inspire and uplift outstanding individuals with proven leadership experience or high leadership potential so that they may contribute to:
-
Leadership and governance in the Pacific region;
-
The long term development and stability of the region; and
-
Promotion of regional understanding and co-operation through an improved network of key relationships across sectors and nations.
Many participants experience professional isolation created by the small size of their communities. By bringing these leaders together, EPLD provides a unique opportunity to interact, promote a collaborative approach to problem solving and enable the development of personal networks, peers and mentors.
Participants are selected through competitive merit-based selection from the ranks of business, industry, government, trade union, arts, education and other community sectors including NGOs.
